Teaching

Teaching has been central to my career since 2009 — across studio design, computational methods, environmental analysis, and applied AI for architects.

Roles

  • Teaching Faculty, Misr Higher Institute for Engineering and Technology (MET), Mansoura, Egypt (2009–2011). Studio and lecture courses in architectural engineering.
  • Teaching Assistant / Assistant Lecturer, Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt (Sep 2011 – Jan 2018). Studio and lecture courses to 60+ students per cohort. Authored the department curriculum in computer applications and computational design.
  • Teaching Assistant / Research Assistant, The American University in Cairo (Sep 2017 – Aug 2018). Studio support and applied built-environment research.
  • Co-supervision, NUS (2023–2025). Co-supervised 5+ graduate students working on GNN, GeoAI, and street-view imagery research.

Online teaching

  • Data Science for Construction, Architecture and Engineering — edX MOOC. Co-developed and delivered as part of the BUDS Lab teaching team at NUS.

Student Supervision

Throughout the last 17 years, teaching and mentoring students has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my academic career. I have supervised hundreds of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across architecture, computational design, data science, digital twins, and urban analytics.
